VETERAN RUNNING BACK: TONY FURLONE GETS ON BOARD THE PAINTRAIN FOR 2025

The Erie Express are pleased to announce the signing of RB-Tony Furlone (Vermillion College) for the 2025 season. Tony begins his first season with the Express and looks to earn a spot in the starting offensive rotation and on special teams.

Furlone is a graduate of Lakeshore Catholic High School in Canada. While there, Tony played football, soccer, baseball, and lacrosse. In football, Tony was named Offensive MVP his  senior year. Team MVP his junior year and qualified for the playoffs all 4 years in high school.

After graduation Tony played his college ball for Vermillion College in Minnesota. In his two seasons there Tony racked up some impressive numbers. Vermilion Minnesota State Year 1: Carries: 203 Rushing yards: 1257. Receptions: 17 Receiving yards: 189

Vermilion Minnesota State Year 2: Carries: 243 Rushing yards: 1491 Receptions: 15 Receiving yards: 163

After his time at Vermillion, Tony had multiple workouts with NFL squads including:

2012 invited to, and participated in, the NFL Regional Combine at the Cleveland Browns facility.

2012 and 2014 invited to NFL free agent camp. Voted best RB in group both years.

2012 work out with Buffalo Bills

2013 work out with Miami Dolphins

2014 invited to NFL Regional Combine in Baltimore, MD. (Did not participate. Right knee.)

Tony is coming off a knee injury but is on pace to be ready by camp. We look forward to seeing what he can do in an Express uniform.
