POWERHOUSE RASHAAD POINDEXTER RETURNS FOR 2025
The Erie Express are pleased to announce the return of ATH-Rashaad Poindexter (Ball State University) for the 2025 season. Rashaad begins his second season with the Express and returns as one of our starters on defense or special teams.
Rashaad proved last season, despite being injured for several games, that he was a true warrior and had the heart of a lion.
Rashaad did an amazing job for us last season and played a major role in our 2024 TPFL Championship game appearance. We finished the season 11-2 and received an invite to the I-75 Pro Advancement Bowl (3-6 loss against the Sheboygan County Sabercats).
We also accepted the invite on January 18th to compete for a National Championship against the defending National Champion; Indy Bison in the USA Bowl in Daytona, FL. (0-41 Loss) Rashaad played a major role in those team accolades as well!
Rashaad is a graduate of North Central High where he was a two-year team captain … played safety and outside linebacker for the Panthers … posted two interceptions, 10 sacks, one forced fumble and more than 200 tackles. Poindexter was a US Army National Combine invitee and also competed on the track team.
Rashaad played his college ball with Ball State University and finished at Gannon University where he was part of the 2022 PSAC West Championship team. Rashaad was also selected to the All-Academic team as well.
Rashaad's grandfather, Johnny Vann, was selected in the 10th round of the 1974 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins.
"Rashaad was a guy we could count on week in and out to be there and perform at a very high level. He has the ability to play multiple positions and plays them all well. He is a student of the game and is always working to perfect his craft. He fought through several injuries last season and just kept coming back stronger and stronger each week. We are blessed to have him back on board and are expecting another great season from him in 2025"-Director of Operations Paul Pennington.
Welcome aboard the PAINTRAIN Rashaad! GO EXPRESS!
