The Erie Express are happy to announce the return of former All-Pro SS-Antwon Martin (Strong Vincent, HS) for the 2025 season. Antwon begins his sixth season with the Express and will compete for a starting spot in the secondary and on special teams. Antwon can also play some WR so we may take a look at him there as well.
Antwon did an amazing job for us last season and played a major role in our 2024 TPFL Championship game appearance. We finished the season 11-2 and received an invite to the I-75 Pro Advancement Bowl (3-6 loss against the Sheboygan County Sabercats).
We also accepted the invite on January 18th to compete for a National Championship against the defending National Champion; Indy Bison in the USA Bowl in Daytona, FL. (0-41 Loss) Antwon played a major role in those team accolades as well
Antwon is a graduate of Strong Vincent High School where he was a three year member of the football team.
In 2022 we were crowned USA Bowl Summer Division National Champions, won our Division in the GDFL for the fourth year in a row and qualified for the GDFL National Playoffs for the seventh year in a row. In January of 2023 we headed to Daytona Beach, FL to face the Minneapolis Warriors in the USA Bowl Summer Division National Championship Game. (17-20 loss) The above mentioned team accolades, Antwon had a direct hand in making possible.
Antwon helped lead us to the 2021 GDFL National Championship as well as the 2022 USA Bowl Summer Division National Championship.
Martin has played professionally for the WPA Kingz and the Mahoning Valley Rough Riderz. Martin was named All-Pro for his efforts with the Kingz and played a major role in the Rough Riderz quarter final appearance last season.
"Rambo has done a great job for us at multiple positions for years. He has the size to play LB and the quickness of a DB. He has been with us for years now and is a player we know we can count on. He always plays wherever he is needed and does so at a high level. We are blessed to have him back on board and are expecting a great season from him in 2025"-Director of Operations Paul Pennington.
Happy to have you back on board the PAINTRAIN Antwon! GO EXPRESS!
